THE GUADALUPES / A PLAY FOR GRANDMAS

"To come to terms with what it means to share a history with a family he barely knows, a young playwright hires a classmate to help roleplay as his dead grandmother. As the grips of the performance begin to take hold, the two grapple with understanding the difference between false memory and falsehood. The Guadalupes is a meta-theatric exploration of history, memory, family, sadness, the importance of naming things, and the profoundly human task of learning how to let go of the things that we’re no longer able to carry."
